NAS raid question - Enquiries - 11-04-2023

Im setting up my fisrt NAS for a plex server. A 2 bay Synology (DS224+). To start my NAS i only purchased 1 8tb HDD. i want to eventually add a second to setup a raid. Is that possible? If yes how do i setup the first HDD until i get the secon one? Thank you!

Absolutely, you can start your NAS with a single 8TB HDD and later expand it to set up a RAID when you get the second one. Initially, you can configure your DS224+ with the single drive, and once you're ready to add the second 8TB HDD, you can seamlessly set up RAID for improved data protection and storage efficiency. Check out the Synology DiskStation Manager (DSM) interface for a user-friendly setup process. Feel free to reach out if you need more guidance!
