Hello
I have a QNAP TS-251D with a TR004 attached. Currently the NAS is not set up with RAID (yes I know...).

If I copied all of the data on the main unit to the DAS and then started again with setting up the TS-251D would I risk the data stored on the TR004?

You can copy data to TR004. Reset the NAS and data on TR004 will still be there when you reconnect.
