Hi,
i have tried to look on your youtube channel and on the website but i cant see you saying about this:
WD Red Pro HDD vs WD Black HDD in a NAS
whats best? are they the same? does it matter?
i have seen your videos explaining the colours of WD but not how they differ in the NAS.

Thanks
When considering WD Red Pro HDDs vs. WD Black HDDs in a NAS, it's essential to understand the differences. WD Black drives are primarily designed for desktop usage. They offer speed and performance but are not optimized for RAID configurations, especially RAID 5 and above, where NAS drives excel. Using WD Black drives in a single or dual-bay NAS can be acceptable for speed but isn't recommended for larger NAS setups. On the other hand, WD Red Pro HDDs are specifically engineered for NAS systems and constant use. They are built to handle the demands of RAID configurations, making them the better choice for NAS devices. So, when it comes to NAS, WD Red Pro is the way to go for reliability and compatibility.
