Hi,

I'm looking for a NAS drive for my small business (2 Users) - The business is an Architectural Practice so we have some larger CAD Files (average of about 20mb up to about 60mb).

So I am looking for a decent NAS to securley store these files - I probably only need about 4TB of storage so was thinking of a 2 Bay drive with 2No 4TB drives mirrorred.

Some of these files are very valuable due to the time spent working on them so the data needs to be safe.

I will also need remote access for when I am out on site.

I might also store a few photos and videos on the NAS.

My budget is about £500 - I have been considering the Synology DS224+ with two 4TB Seagate Ironwolf NAS drives.

I've watched a few of your reviews and am now even more confused and wonder what you would choose if it was your money?

Many thanks!

Regards Rob
Thank you for reaching out to us with your NAS requirements. Considering your architectural practice's needs for securely storing CAD files, opting for a 2-bay NAS seems appropriate. The Synology DS224+ you mentioned is indeed a solid choice, especially when paired with two 4TB Seagate Ironwolf NAS drives. This setup should offer reliable mirrored storage and ensure the safety of your valuable files.

However, given the nature of your work with larger CAD files, it might be worth considering the Synology DS723+. This model provides enhanced performance, offering speeds beyond 100MB/s. This could be beneficial when working with larger files. The DS723+ could serve as a robust solution for your business needs.
