I would prefer RAID 5. Enough to handle family cloud storage in our home. Advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm a little overwhelmed with choices.
Thank you for reaching out regarding your home cloud storage needs. To set up a reliable RAID 5 system for family cloud storage, you have several options. While any NAS will suffice for simple home cloud usage, considering future-proofing is important for lasting value. With a budget of $500, I recommend looking into Celeron-based models like the DS224+ or TS-262. These models offer a solid balance of performance and features, allowing you to handle multimedia access remotely and ensuring your setup remains effective in the coming years.
