Hello I am considering purchasing a NAS device for home use, and I'm trying to decide between the Synology 923+ and QNAP 464. I need a device that can help me back up my mobile photos and videos, transfer files, connect IoT devices to third-party apps, and act as a media server.

Can you provide me with your expert opinion on which device would be better suited for my needs? Specifically, which device has better media server capabilities and can stream content to multiple devices simultaneously? Are there any other factors that I should consider, such as ease of use, reliability, or customer support?

Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing back from you soon.

Best regards,
Based on your requirements, the DS923+ from Synology is a Ryzen-based NAS, which performs excellently for local usage. However, remote video streaming may be challenging with this model. On the other hand, the QNAP 464, equipped with a Celeron processor, allows for remote access to videos and streaming to multiple devices. Both NAS brands have reliable backup apps to ensure the safety of your mobile photos and videos. When considering ease of use, reliability, and customer support, both Synology and QNAP are reputable brands with a history of delivering quality products and services.
