I have a ReadyNAS from Netgear, and they just turned off my remote access as this is EOL

I have a spare laptop (Dell 5420) with broken Screen, I was wondering if you think it is worth for me connecting this to the Readynas to upgrade this to a better hardware or shall I buy something like Synology
I"m using a MAC and iPhone as my main PCs and phone

Buying a Synology NAS would allow you to discover how NAS world has changed for the better.
But otherwise, if you have an HDMI port, you could convert it into unraid server. Or you can use components to build a DIY solution.
