Your youtube videos are brilliant!!

I have a synology DS120j with a 4 TB WD hard drive. I primarily use the device as a centralized backup file storage.

I am contemplating on purchasing a Synology DS224+ with 6 GB RAM in which I wish to setup 1-2 VMs and perhaps a Plex Server. Do you have any feedback and/or demonstrations on how the VMs are setup on a Synology. It would be helpful. I have not explored the VPN or WordPress options on the NAS yet.

I would appreciate you advise.

I would recommend waiting a few weeks until the Synology DS224+ is released. This upcoming model is equipped with a quad-core Celeron processor, which will provide better performance for running VMs and a Plex Server compared to the DS120j. With 6 GB of RAM, it offers ample memory capacity to support your intended usage. While I don't have specific demonstrations on VM setup on Synology devices, the DSM (DiskStation Manager) software provides user-friendly interfaces and comprehensive documentation to assist you in setting up and managing VMs. Additionally, Synology offers VPN and WordPress options that you can explore on the NAS to enhance its capabilities. Overall, upgrading to the DS224+ will give you more power and flexibility for your backup storage, VMs, and potential Plex Server needs.
