Hi, I currently have a DS220J NAS which works fine apart from being very slow at loading its apps. I do not need more than 8TB or all the bells and whistles but I do need the NAS to be much more responsive. Any assistance you can provide with regards to this will be greatly appreciated.

Yes, this model barely has any RAM. If you need something more responsive look at Celeron-based models with 2GB RAM or more. Such as DS220+.
