Looking for my first NAS, not entirely sure what i want to run on it but probably plex and some other docker containers. Any tips and recommendations on how much TB needed for something like plex along with some backups for pc/laptop? And which NAS to use for this? I want atleast 2.5gbps ports since my network is also 2.5gbps
For your needs, either the DS220+ or the DS423+ would be good options. Both are capable of running Plex and Docker containers, and offer 2-bay and 4-bay options respectively. The amount of storage you need really depends on how much media you plan on storing for Plex and how many backups you want to keep. A good rule of thumb is to start with at least 2TB of storage and then expand as needed.

In terms of the 2.5Gbps ports, the DS220+ comes with two 1Gbps Ethernet ports with option would be to use a USB 2.5Gbps dongle with the DS220+ if you prefer that model.

Alternatively, you could consider the QNAP TS-264 or TS-464, which both offer 2.5Gbps Ethernet ports and are also capable of running Plex and Docker containers. Ultimately, the best option for you depends on your budget and specific needs.
