Started setting up my NAS following your QNAP NAS Setup Guild 2022... but I've noticed my HDDs in the NAS never idle... is that normal?
It is not uncommon for the hard drives in a NAS to be constantly in use, especially during the initial setup and configuration process. This is because the NAS may be indexing files, creating backups, or running other background tasks that require access to the hard drives.

However, if you notice that the hard drives continue to be in use even after the setup and configuration process is complete, it may be worth investigating further to determine what is causing the constant activity. Some possible causes could include ongoing background tasks such as backups or software updates.

You may want to use the QNAP Resource Monitor or other diagnostic tools to investigate the source of the constant drive activity and determine if it is normal or if there is an underlying issue that needs to be addressed.
