Hi I have a Qnap TS 219pP II with WD reds which has been up and runnin 24/7 for 10 years approx. It is currenty only used for music, CD and Hi Res (24bit/192 kHz),around 1 tb of data. I would like to add a media server for the family to use for phone/ipad phots and vids. I would like to add a second more upto date second Qnap and new HDD's and keep the old one as occasional backup. What wouldyou suggest?

Thanks
Based on your needs, I would recommend the QNAP TS-464 or TS-264 as potential options for your media server. Both models have 4 drive bays and are suitable for multimedia purposes, such as storing and streaming photos and videos to mobile devices.

The TS-464 is a more powerful option with a quad-core processor and 4GB of RAM, while the TS-264 has a dual-core processor and 2GB of RAM. If you plan to use the NAS for more than just media storage, such as running additional applications or virtual machines, then the TS-464 would be a better choice.

Both models also support the latest version of QNAP's operating system, QTS, which has a user-friendly interface and plenty of features for managing your media files. As for the hard drives, I would recommend choosing high-capacity WD Red Plus drives, just like your current setup, for reliability and performance.
