I am looking to buy a QNAP TVS-h874.

I am trying to narrow it down between the i7 and i5 model. I do plan to add a GPU.(p4000) and a 10gb NIC to either.

NAS tasks...
- PLEX
- VMs
- Docker Apps
- File repository

Any advice would be helpful.

Both the i7 and i5 models of the QNAP TVS-h874 are capable of handling the tasks you mentioned, but the i7 model will likely provide better performance overall. The i7 model comes with a higher clock speed and more cores than the i5 model, which will be useful for tasks that require more processing power like running multiple VMs and transcoding media files in Plex.
