I have between 500-1000 docs and spreadsheets combined and thousands of pictures from 2 cell phones, 2 laptops, and a desktop PC. I'd like something that I could schedule automatic backups, but didn't know if that was possible from the Android cell phones. I also need builtin photo software that can help me categorize photos so I can find them later. I had planned on getting a DS220+, but wanted your opinion on the new DS223 based on my needs. I would be using this as a central backup for photos and some docs. Some of the other non plus units did not get great reviews.
DS223 has some limitations, it does basic backup (not active backup suite). But overall it is a good value series NAS. If you don't like limits, go for ds220+.
For automatic backups from your Android phones, you can use the Synology Drive mobile app, which allows you to automatically upload your photos and videos to your Synology NAS. The app is available for both Android and iOS, and it's easy to set up and configure. You can also use other backup apps like Synology Moments or DS file to backup your files.

As for photo software, Synology Moments is a great option for categorizing and organizing your photos. It has a powerful search feature that allows you to search for photos by location, date, or even the people in them. It can also automatically categorize your photos into folders based on the date and location they were taken. Moments also allows you to share your photos with others, either through a web link or by creating a shared folder.
I hope this helps https://nascompares.com/answer/synology-...220-ds723/
