Hello guys on nas compares:

I have decided on a nas 4 bays system, im looking for 2.5 gbe connection but i cant decide on witch system to go with. CAN YOU RECOMMEND A SYSTEM ? ; this tree are the one that im more interested on.
1. Asustor AS5304T 4 Bay NAS
2. Asustor Lockerstor 4 Gen2 AS6704T - 4 Bay NAS
3. Qnap TS-464-4G-US

Having the ability to upgade the memory is a good feature, like the asustor.

I have two computers and i want to centralize my data between to PC and have some level of backup.
Im going with seagate iron wolf or western digital red pro drives 16tb or 18tb depending on price.

More Questions

When it comes to choosing a 4 bay NAS system, you have a few options to consider. The Asustor AS5304T is the weakest among the three systems mentioned (AS5304T, Lockerstor 4 Gen2 AS6704T, and Qnap TS-464-4G-US). Both the Qnap 464 and Lockerstor 4 Gen2 offer similar performance. Both Seagate Ironwolf and Western Digital Red Pro or Plus drives are also good choices for storage.

When it comes to connecting your NAS to your PC, it can be done directly via LAN or via a switch, but not via USB. When you copy files to the NAS, the date of creation will remain as it was. This can be achieved by using the rsync command in Linux and MacOS or Robocopy in Windows. You can also use other third-party apps to achieve this.
