I have a Synology DS420+ and am trying to set-up remote file access on a Mac using finder without success. I am beginning to question if it is possible with the Amplifi HD router I have. Do you have any suggestions or a recommendation for a new router? Thanks.

The easiest way to connect and access you files is using Quickconnect in combination with Drive app

Otherwise, you need to make sure your broadband provider and a router allow port forwarding. This would open ports to allow connection from outside the local network.
