I want a NAS to store photos and videos, currently using lightroom and got circa 45000 images on there, less than 1tb, but aware that i want something futureproof

I would recommend Celeron based 4 bay if you need future proofing.
DS920+ with 2 drives inside would protect your data against single drive failure. You can then add additional drives when you need more storage space.
