What to choose between the older 718+ or the newer 220+ the price is for 718+ is about 20£ cheaper than 220+.

Use the Nas mostly for Plex, but is will try some more things like docker, don't know much about it yet, but plan to use Nas tougheter with smart devices around home also.

If the price is similar I would certainly choose DS718+. This is way better hardware. The operating system and functionality will be identical. But having two extra cores will really speed up things. There is so much more you can do with it.I hope this helps.
