Hello,

I am considering purchasing a NAS (preferably Synology) for my home. I want to be able to backup all of the PCs, plus all of our cellphones, and dump files from the Camcorder on the NAS. I also plan to setup a Plex media server for streaming DVDs and uploaded video files to our Roku devices. We also would like to have a few open bays for future storage expansion, or perhaps for reciprocal offsite data storage with a friend who also has a Synology. Which models would you recommend? I have been looking at the DS920+ or maybe the DS1520+. I appreciate any suggestions you may have! Thanks!
Yes, Synology comes with very easy software to set up and use including great mobile apps. Hyper Backup app will simplify PC backing up and DS Moments/Drive will take care of mobiles.Quad-core CPU with built-in GPU will take care of Plex media streaming and would even transcode 4K with DS Video app.DS920+ and DS1520+ are very similar NAS with an extra bay difference and spare LAN ports.I hope this helps.
