Which is better?
1. A HTC (Home Theater Computer) running as a PLEX server and player, mainly for digitizing music CD collection to playback through home network, adding a few available 1TB drives

2. A new 4 bay NAS central PLEX and data server for a number of household computers.

Usually, HTC will be cheaper than a NAS. But you won't have RAID protection.With a NAS you can build bigger volumes then HTC would allow. And you can easier share options and data protection functions.NAS- bigger, safer.HTC - cheaper and faster.I hope this helps.
