Hello,

I already have a SFF HP Prodesk 600 G4 with 32GB RAM and 1TB SSD that has Portainer and Jellyfin on it.

I'm looking to add a NAS or DAS purely for storage and allow Jellyfin to run on my SFF server for any Transcoding needs or other computationally expensive tasks.

I'm having a hard time finding the right solution for this. I could build my own, but it seems like something like the Asustor Drivestor 4 AS1104T might be a better bet.

Would love any thoughts you can provide for my situation.

Thank you,
Brad
I noticed the Asustor Drivestor 4 AS1104T is a NAS, not a DAS, but it could still work for your needs. While a DAS might offer faster direct storage access, the AS1104T's NAS functionality can handle Plex storage and local streaming well. If you're open to exploring alternatives, Terramaster provides affordable DAS options. Also, consider checking out Synology or QNAP NAS solutions, which are known for their reliability and scalability. You can use the NAS Finder tool (https://nascompares.com/nas-builder/)
Hello,
I'm sorry I don' have the answer but i'm interested by your setup. I just got a 600 G4 SFF. I was thiking to update it just like you 32GB ram + 1TB SSD.
Is that enough? Are you using proxmox? or truenas or OMV?
Transcoding is working well with 4K? Why do you need a NAS? Because you need more storage? An external HDD is not enought?
Did you change the GPU?
Thanks!
