Buying a New computer for VM work-CYBER competitions?

I am looking to purchase a new desktop and plan to use it for numerous things, especially VMware, VIrtual Box, JAVA, LINUX, WINDOWS, UBUNTU, HYPER_V, etc. for Cyber Competitions with my student. What are the minimum/maximum requirements regarding speed, data storage, etc.

I would recommend putting that plan on a paper. How many VMs you will run simultaneously and what speed/performance each VM will need. You can then add all these requirements together and you will figure out whats specs you need.I would not look at anything weaker than Intel Core i3/i5/i7 or Xeon based with a PCI-E graphics card.I hope this helps.
